Simply put, our business is about helping people in difficult situations have conversations about difficult topics.
We help people in the midst of divorce have a discussion about how they want their children to be cared for. We help families make decisions about what to do if one of them becomes unable to care for him or herself. We help co-workers and neighbors discuss how to resolve disputes. We help entire organizations decide how to improve their working relationships. We also train people in ways to transform conflicts into solutions.
I normally will use transformative mediation though, if the situation warrants, I will use facilitative mediation as well.

Experience
I have been a mediator since 1998. I have done some AEA mediations involving IEP's; I have done some workplace mediations between supervisors and supervisees and between co-workers. I have also facilitated a dialogue process for an entire neighborhood and for a non-profit organization. I have extensive experience in conflict resolution training and diversity training. Since 1999, I have trained peer mediators for the Des Moines County high school. More recently, I have begun conducting family and elder care mediations.
